A furnished house or a furnished apartment in Cleveland

5 min read

Most of the furnished housing on offer in Greater Cleveland is apartments: units in managed buildings downtown, in University Circle, and in suburbs like Beachwood and Westlake. We let houses. Both are good at different things, and the honest answer depends on who is staying and why.

Where an apartment wins

  • One person, travelling alone, who wants to walk to work or to dinner downtown
  • Someone who likes a building with a gym, a lobby and a person at the front desk
  • A stay where being in the middle of things matters more than having room

If that is you, a furnished apartment is a sensible choice, and we would say so.

Where a house wins

  • More than two people, because a house gives each of them a bedroom rather than a sofa bed
  • A family, where children need somewhere to run and adults need a door to close
  • A dog, since a yard beats a lift and a lobby at six in the morning
  • A car or two, because a driveway is easier than a parking garage with a monthly permit
  • A long stay, where shared walls and a neighbour's television start to matter

The space question

A two bedroom apartment and a three or four bedroom house are not the same stay. Ours have living rooms, dining rooms or breakfast bars, full kitchens and, in most, a yard. The largest sleeps eight. For a group, the house is often the only way to keep everyone under one roof without anyone sleeping in the living room.

The location question

Apartments cluster where the buildings are. Houses are in neighborhoods, which means a quieter street and a slightly longer drive to downtown. Our homes are in Brooklyn Centre, Cleveland Heights, Euclid, Maple Heights and Bedford Heights, and all of them are within about twenty minutes of downtown off-peak.

If your work is at a hospital, look at the drive rather than the map. Each of our hospital pages lists the homes in order of how long it actually takes to get there.

If a house sounds like the better fit, send the dates and the headcount through the quote form and we will tell you what is free. Or call us on (216) 306-4821, 8am to 9pm, seven days.

Tell us the dates, we’ll match the home.

Send us what you know and our Cleveland team will come back with the homes that fit and what they cost.

No charge to enquire. We reply the same day during opening hours.
